  5. Malvern is a sanserif METAFONT font family, which should be available
  6. from the CTAN archives (such as ftp.tex.ac.uk in directory tex-archive)
  7. in directory fonts/malvern.
  8.  
  9. These files are intended to be used with Alan Jeffrey's Fontinst
  10. package.  Fontinst is a package for generating composite ("virtual")
  11. fonts, written in TeX for portability.  For example, you can use
  12. Fontinst to create Malvern fonts with the new Cork (T1) encoding.  You
  13. can get fontinst from the CTAN, in directory fonts/utilities/fontinst.

  15. Encoding files
  16.     These can be used inside an fontinst file, and can also be run
  17.     through plain TeX to produce a printed copy of the encoding.

  19.     pdcmaa.etx -- describes MAlvern A encoding
  20.  
  21.     pdcmaa3.etx -- describes MAlvern A encoding with two changes: (1) no
  22.     old-style figures (2) no medium capitals
  23.  
  24.     pdcmab.etx -- describes MAlvern B encoding
  25.  
  26. Glyph fudge files
  27.     Definitions used to assemble glyphs in Xx into glyphs for Yy are
  28.     called pdcxxyy.mtx (think "Xx to Yy")
  29.  
  30.     pdcmat1.mtx -- glyph hacks for making T1 (Cork) glyphs from MAlvern
  31.     encoded fonts.  This goes *before* latin.mtx.

  33.     pdcadma.mtx -- glyph hacks for making MAlvern glyphs from ADobe
  34.     standard roman glyphs

  38.     -- ETX Formatting macros (used when running TeX on an ETX file to
